I got the call while at MAGIC that Liriks was officially chosen by MTV to help kick off this year’s 2010 MTV VMA with the official VMA pre-party event. Sponsored by MTV and Time Warner Cable, MTV will host the 2010 MTV VMA Best Breakout LA Artist Showcase on September 10 at the Music Box LA. Liriks will be going up against 2 other acts.

Bear witness to his blessed skills in the near future, especially with “The Damar Davis Experiment” coming in the next couple of weeks. Moreno Valley, CA – May 31, 2010 – Mass Hysteria Werx artist, Steve Liriks, hits us with his “Coming of Age” tale, Lazy Boy Syndrome. It explores the question every young adult faces with what to do with your life post-High School. Everyone that experiences growing pains, can relate to Lazy Boy. Lazy Boy is an intervention about pushing forward and not conforming to our generations ways of being sloths, non-productive, and always trying to find the easy way to Success. It is about breaking this curse by improving your situation, not being depressed, and letting the days slip by with no progress. It’s also explores relationships with the opposite sex as well. The sacrifices and balances one has to make in order to achieve goals while trying to convince that special person to have trust and faith. Hopefully they will be there for you as try to you make it to that end of the tunnel.

On Lazy Boy Syndrome, Liriks enlists production from talented out-of-country producers including Kalifornia Kurt (Austria), Jobe (Paris), Lunice (Canada), Mr. Marr (Canada), Nino (Spain), Crackazat (UK), Hudson Mohawke (UK), and back to USA with fellow MHW label mates, The Specialists. Featured guests include DJ Chong Wizard, Dana La Rock, The Specialists, Tyrice C. (Steve’s Engineer as well), Mr. Mirac (Austria), and DJ Chris Fader (Austria), who blesses “On Another Note” with some very Primo-esque scratches! Liriks went this route to have an encompassing Global Sound, rather than just the typical run-of-the-mill sound of his environment. Lazy Boy is a nuclear mind meld of electro-synth, funky drums-n-snares, dramatic horns, bouncy grooves, and feelings of so smooth.

Hosted by rapper Jay Rock on April 28th from 7-11 PM, “A Nightmare on Fairfax” featured the unveiling of the limited edition, Freddy Krueger inspired, Diamond Supply Co. T-Shirt along with a number of other Freddy Krueger inspired art installations by local Los Angeles artists.

MHW has worked with the great group at Cashmere Agency the past year and was called upon to provide my services. Since Stunna Liqueur efforts has been focused on the South this past year, I decided to branch out and extend my marketing, sales, and promotional services to fellow liquor brand, Sharkwater Tropical Liqueur. Don and Jeff, owners of Sharkwater (based in Michigan), are great guys and being Jeff is a native So Cali-guy, it was a no brainer to help a fellow Laker fan!

MHW provided Sharkwater for the event and teamed up with the mobile Bar servers, SERVE, to dish out tasty concoctions of Sharkwater and OJ. Being Sharkwater is filled with a twist citrus flavor, the OJ was naturally a perfect compliment and turned out to be a crowd favorite. All 24 750mL bottles were gone within the first 2.5 hours!!

As Borat would say about Sharkwater at the Elm St event, “GREAT SUCCESS, HI-5!!”
